Apex Building Sciences Inc. (ABS) is a consulting and inspection firm whose work and expertise primarily consist of building envelope assessments and inspections, total building envelope consulting, preparation of litigation support material, and remediation inspections. The firm has been and is currently engaged by numerous owners, developers, architectural firms, engineering firms, property management companies, and strata owners to perform consulting and inspection work in the aforementioned fields of discipline throughout the lower mainland area of British Columbia.

ABS utilizes destructive and non-destructive testing procedures for obtaining moisture content readings in the building envelope and structural components of buildings. The test results have proven to be invaluable in the detection of the early stages of structural degradation and/or dry rot. This early detection of the onset of component degeneration is of particular importance in new buildings which are under warranty or in older buildings subjected to naturally induced elevated moisture loads.

ABS has been and is currently commissioned by strata corporations, property managers, project managers, corporations, and legal firms in repair and restoration projects where litigation is pending or ongoing. ABS's role is to obtain samples, document and photograph construction defects and violations of the applicable building codes, to prepare forensic summaries, and to prepare Scott Schedules, a court-ready document outlining the cause and effect of various deficiencies on the structure. In addition ABS has been retained to appear as the expert witness on behalf of clients in their litigations against the contractors, developers, municipalities, and other independent inspection firms, etc.
